How does it work?
This course, and the investigative interviewing technique you are taught within it was first run over 20 years ago. This updated version is now seen as the benchmark for structured, skills-based investigation interview training. It focuses on interview structure, planning, skills and getting to the truth in a relatively short time. The small number of students allow for a high level of one-to-one coaching, with practical exercises on real case studies that raises the knowledge skills and provides increased confidence for those with less experience.
It is suitable for interviewers of employee fraud, disciplinary matters and other criminal activity. This course is frequently used as a part of essential induction training, with all relevant staff of companies attending.
Day 1 sets the scene, with the relevant aspects of common law, The Human Rights Act, PACE, psychology and body language, and an introduction to the 'Find the Truth' technique principles.
Days 2 and 3 are based on role-plays, using real cases and with delegates taking the role of interviewer and interviewee. These are then analysed by the trainer and the peer group.
Who should attend?
Anti-fraud investigators; compliance officers; auditors; bank and insurance inspectors; personnel and HR directors; corporate risk managers and anyone responsible for investigative interviewing where they need to determine the truth from people. It is very useful for ex-police, helping to explain the difference with the commercial style of interviewing.
The Venue
Residential courses will be held in Bournemouth, at the superb Chine Hotel, Boscombe. The hotel has achieved 'Best in class' and a Red Rosette from the AA for the last 6 years, and RAC 'highly commended' restaurant, hospitality and comfort plus 'Credit to the Industry' award. It is overlooking the beach, with lovely gardens to relax and walk through, plus indoor and outdoor pools and gym.
