Course Overview
The Advanced course can be a follow up to the Investigative Interview skills course or as an alternative course for any interviewer including beginners. It will provide additional skills in methods of controlling an interview.
Based on advanced police training accredited by the National Crime Faculty, it covers interview skills in depth including, planning, behavioural psychology, conversation management, listening skills, recognising deception, managing hostility and silence. Many experienced interviewers have been amazed at how much they have gained from the course.
Who should attend?
This course is particularly suitable for information gathering interviews, especially of customers, clients, contractors, members of the public or employees suspected of fraud or other criminal or disciplinary activity; its purpose being to obtain information and evidence and possibly challenge deception. The knowledge and skills covered are generic and adaptable so those engaged in recruitment interviews will also gain from this course.
Delegates who have attended the Investigative Interviewing Skills Course should undertake this course to understand a very different model and higher level of skills. However new interviewers will also find this invaluable as a career start.
