Starbucks Case Study

I have been in the Loss Prevention field for almost 20 years and use a variety of interview techniques to assist me with my investigations. One area that was always difficult to investigate is an incident where there were many suspects, such as cash left unattended and 5-10 employees working that day, or lost and found property that goes missing after 2 weeks in an unsecure office.

About a year ago I took the SCAN basic and advanced course and this is exactly the right tool to help in these types of investigations. I have found the questionnaire particularly helpful, and as a matter of fact used it to a successful conclusion just last week recovering a large sum of money and removing the guilty employee from the business.
