SCAN Statement Analysis Training Course
Three day Basic course & two day Advanced Course
A U.S Government Agency survey compared SCAN to other methods and showed the validity of SCAN to reach above 95 %.
How does it work?
The SCAN training course provides you with a truly amazing technique to help you obtain more information from a suspect than you thought possible. It is particularly good for using pre-interview, to establish who to interview and what questions to ask to reveal the truth. SCAN is non-accusatory and non-threatening and can be used confidently knowing that you are operating within applicable law, including the Human Rights Act.
Developed by Avinoam Sapir, a former Israeli police officer, the SCAN technique relies on the theory that people really want to tell you everything - even when they're guilty!
The SCAN training course will show you how to interpret any statement from beginning to end. Every word in the subject's statement - the pronouns and connections, the subjective time, the changes in language - will 'talk' to you and show you the answer.
In 3 days you will be able to use the technique to unlock hidden information that you would not get just from an interview. The training course will explain the 10 key tools, and show you:
- Whether the subject is truthful or deceptive
- What information the subject is concealing
- Whether or not the subject was involved in the incident/crime
SCAN is also the only course we know where all students have permanent access to a fax Helpline, for help and advice, entirely FREE! Students can find this 'second opinion' helpful if they work alone.
The technique includes the VIEW( Verbal enquiry, the effective witness) questionnaire, which is used to narrow your suspect list. It will narrow your interview options and save manpower, work time and money. It can be used with many people at once, and even remotely, sent by fax anywhere.
SCAN is used all over the world, and is probably the original FSA technique. It solves cases using a completely different set of rules, and provides a vital new tool to the investigator, often solving cases previously unresolved.
The SCAN training course is delivered in association with the Laboratory for Scientific interrogation, Phoenix, Arizona.
